The continent of Tamriel is the setting for the Elder Scrolls Series of video games by Bethesda Studios located in the World of Nirn. For most of recorded history, the continent was ruled over largely by one expansive empire divided into the provinces here labelled. The name Tamriel is said to mean Starry Heart, while it is also Elven for Dawn's Beauty.
